Destiny brought Haitian actor Patrick to Schlingensief’s Burkina Faso. There, his challenge was to bring Guy Jr Régis’ novel Incessants to stage. The play immediately became a great success. Africa is also where Patrick found love with Kerstin, a German dramatist. The couple now lives and works in Berlin and Cologne.

Deacon worked as a booker at Klub der Republik (KdR). A local club and famous hangout in Prenzlauer Berg that existed for more than a decade. KdR closed on January 31st and the building will be torn down soon after. We took the opportunity to capture the vibe before it’s gone forever. Deacon grew up in California and has been a Berliner for more than 15 years.
